☀️ Our Mission

SolarCalcPro exists to level the playing field between homeowners and the solar industry. When you're evaluating a $20,000–$40,000 solar installation, you deserve objective data — not a sales pitch from an installer who earns a commission on every system they sell.

We built SolarCalcPro to give you the same spec-level data that solar installers use internally: real panel efficiency ratings, actual wattage outputs, warranty terms, and degradation rates — so you can walk into any installation quote knowing exactly what you're looking at.

Our calculators use publicly available irradiance data and industry-standard formulas to give you honest estimates of what a solar system will save you — before you talk to a single salesperson.

🔍 Why We Built This

The solar industry is full of great installers — and some not-so-great ones. The problem is that without independent data, it's nearly impossible for a homeowner to know the difference. Installers often upsell panels based on margin rather than value. Quotes vary wildly for the same roof, and the technical jargon can be overwhelming.

SolarCalcPro fills the gap that the industry didn't want filled: a free, independent resource where you can:

We're independently operated as part of a suite of informational tool websites. SolarCalcPro is supported by display advertising and may include affiliate links to solar-related retailers and equipment suppliers — see our Disclaimer for the full breakdown of how those links work. We are not paid by any installer to rank them higher, and no manufacturer or installer can pay for better placement in our panel comparisons or calculator results.

📊 How Our Data Works

All panel specifications in our database were sourced from official manufacturer datasheets at the time each entry was added. Specifications are static data, not a live feed — we periodically review and refresh entries as we become aware of new models or manufacturer spec revisions, but we don't claim continuous real-time monitoring. See our Disclaimer for the full data accuracy policy, and always confirm current specs directly with the manufacturer or your installer before purchasing.

Our calculators use the following methodologies:

Estimates are educational starting points, not formal engineering assessments. Always obtain a site-specific assessment from a licensed solar installer before making any purchase decision.

📅 Content Review & Corrections

Every calculator page and article on SolarCalcPro lists a "last reviewed" date near its methodology or sources section so you can see how current the content is. This About page was last reviewed on August 13, 2026. Tax and incentive content, in particular, is checked against primary sources (IRS.gov, the DSIRE state incentive database, and current legislation) whenever we become aware of a policy change — including the December 31, 2025 expiration of the federal 30% residential solar tax credit reflected throughout this site.

If you spot outdated information, an incorrect calculation, or a broken source link, please contact us with the page and the specific issue — we review and correct reported errors.
